As we begin this
tenth year of the Leadership Institute, it is an exciting
time. We have a great new group of women as part of our
2009-10 class and are preparing for a really good "continuing
education" session in November topped off with a special
celebration of the accomplishments of all of those who are
graduates of the leadership program.
Wanting to keep up with ever changing times and new challenges,
the board, class representatives and committee members participated
in a retreat in August to completely review the Institute's
recruitment, programming, continued participation from all
of our Institute members, application process and social
activities. Some really good suggestions emerged from the
retreat and you will be hearing about some of the things
planned to respond to these changing times and new challenges.
I look forward to welcoming the new class this week and
to seeing all of you in November.

goals. Amazing! It has been a rewarding journey.

Board has worked hard over the summer to ensure this year's

keep it fresh and relevant. It was a great success and we

members' willingness to step out into new arenas underscores
how important the Institute's mission is. Win, or lose,
the membership is exploring new horizons.
